Groupa – Kind of Folk

Groupa is a Swedish-Norwegian folk music group that has been active since the early 1980s. In the early 2000s, Sofia Karlsson was part of the group and they released several albums together. Since about 2007, the group usually consists of a trio and it is this one that we have the pleasure of meeting at RAVINEN. The three musicians are also very well known on their respective instruments, and Groupa has received several Grammys over the years. They use a variety of instruments, such as jaw harp, willow flute, viola d’amore, bells, stones and wood, and combine older musical traditions with modern expressions.
