When we wander through Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, we encounter photographer Misha Pedan’s 10 pictures instead of the original ones that Mussorgsky intended.

Schubertbad

In our “Schubertbad” we walk in Schubert’s music… adding and subtracting with our own improvisations. We take the liberty to dive into some of the iconic chamber music works and reflect with our own improvisations.

Ensemble Makadam dissects and comments on compositions with improvisation and fragmentation. By randomly combining classical works with planned and spontaneous improvisation, new musical forms are created.

The result is unpredictable and opens up new approaches to the expression and forms of music addressing a variety of audiences. The ensemble collaborates with composers who work just on the border between written music and improvisation.
