What is Love? Songs about Love
Love songs with soprano, countertenor and lute!
The trio Teresia Bokor, Daniel Carlsson and Fredrik Bock give a varied concert program with music by, among others, J. Dowland, H. Purcell, G. F. Händel and Vaughan Williams.
The title What is Love? refers to the texts of the works which revolve around love. The program offers songs, duets and arias from operas and British folk songs.
The trio is inspired by mixing music from the Renaissance and Baroque with music from the 20th century, contemporary music and folk songs.
Teresia, Daniel and Fredrik work on operas and concert stages in Sweden and Denmark and they regularly work with various orchestras and ensembles such as Concerto Copenhagen and Gothenburg Baroque. Daniel and Teresia’s voices blend well into a beautiful unity, and all three move freely with their instruments through different musical landscapes and genres.
Some pieces that are on the show are “Caro! Bella!” from Giulio Cesare (Handel), “Fairest Isle” from King Arthur (Purcell), “Lost is My Quiet Forever” (Purcell), “Come Again” (Dowland) and the British folk song “Greensleves”.
Presented in collaboration with Båstad Chamber Music Association.
The concert is about 90 minutes and includes an intermission.
