Sakta vi gå genom stan… – A musical journey around the world

The soprano star Negar Zarassi from SVT’s “Kontrapunkt” and “Persia’s Got Talent” and guitarist David Härenstam present a popular and varied program with everything from opera pearls via Persian folk songs to folk songs.

The Swedish-Iranian soprano star Negar Zarassi, with her warm and expressive voice, has touched millions with her singing. You may recognize her from TV as a contestant in the quiz show “Kontrapunkt”, but usually she is on stage, and with her full sound and her unique ability to always create presence, she has been engaged as a soloist by, among others, the Gothenburg Symphony, as a finalist in Persia’s Got Talent, GWO and Malmö Opera. Negar and David met for the first time during the festival “In Between” in Båstad in 2022 and have since appeared in various contexts, a much appreciated duo that offers a varied program, everything from classical opera arias by Mozart and Schubert to Persian folk songs and songs in chamber music format. There will also be Spanish music by Manuel de Falla and folk songs arranged by Benjamin Britten.

Guitarist David Härenstam has, after an Advanced Diploma for Professor John Mills, recorded and appeared on a long series of internationally successful records and appeared on radio and TV. David is also artistic director of two chamber music festivals and has toured China, Australia and Europe.
