From Yesterday to Penny Lane
Seven beloved Beatles songs in a creative arrangement for guitar and string orchestra. This “classic Beatles” tribute is an audience favorite that weaves together the familiar melodies of Lennon and McCartney with the brilliance of Leo Brouwer. The concerto was written for the Japanese guitarist Ichiro Suzuki in 1985 and has been performed by many of the leading guitarists, including Göran Söllscher. Listen to his recording below:
New Project: ABBA Reimagined
Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus from ABBA are legendary songwriters, completely comparable to the iconic duo John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Inspired by Brouwer’s “Beatles Concerto”, Björn and Marin have lovingly arranged and combined 12 beloved ABBA songs into a brand new Guitar Concert. This innovative project highlights the classic influences of ABBA’s music, transforming their timeless hits into new stand-alone works for guitar and strings.
Björn Kleiman and Martin Fogel have collaborated for many years, both as a duo and in larger ensembles. Björn is a violinist and arranger who has had his works performed by prominent orchestras and musicians from the London Philharmonic and the Detroit Symphony. Martin is an award-winning Swedish guitarist based in London who has recorded several critically acclaimed CDs and performed on prestigious stages worldwide.
