Halmstad resident Per Thornberg is back at RAVINEN with his tenor saxophone, now with the phenomenal “Sakral Jazz Trio” where they interpret everything from Ellington to Piazzolla to folk tunes and hymns together with Laholm native Magnus Hjorth on piano and Max Thornberg on double bass.
SAKRAL JAZZ är en trio bestående av tre väletablerade jazzmusiker bosatta i Halmstad, Köpenhamn och Göteborg. Trion framför respektfullt omarrangerade psalmer, jazzballader, folkton, Bach, Ellington, Gershwin, Piazzolla m.m. Gruppen har sedan starten 2016 gjort uppskattade framträdanden i ett stort antal kyrkor i Skåne, Halland, Småland, Göteborg och Danmark.

Per Thornberg, Tenorsaxofon (f. 1962 i Halmstad) Jazzmusiker, improvisationspedagog och konstvetare, utbildad vid musikhögskolan i Malmö. Har spelat jazz- och improvisationsmusik i 40 år i olika fasta och tillfälliga konstellationer från solo/duo till big band. Medverkat i radio och TV samt på diverse skivinspelningar. Samarbetar ofta och gärna med bildkonstnärer i gränsöverskridande projekt mellan jazzmusik & konst. Bosatt i Halmstad. www.perthornberg.se
Magnus Hjorth, Piano (f. 1983 i Laholm) Pianist, kompositör och arrangör bosatt i Köpenhamn. Driver många egna projekt och är en eftertraktad solist och ackompanjatör i olika sammanhang på båda sidor av Öresund.
Max Thornberg, Kontrabas (f. 1985 i Halmstad) Jazzmusiker och kompositör, bosatt i Göteborg. Utbildad vid Kungliga Musikhögskolan i Stockholm. Medlem i den internationellt erkända pianotrion Emil Brandqvist Trio, samt ett flertal andra konstellationer.
