Welcome to a captivating mix of folk music, modern timbre and poetic expression. Between acoustic and electronic, where each composer gives her or his own unique interpretation of interplay and space. This concert is a journey through the inspiring landscape of architecture and poetry, where each work offers a new sound world to discover.

 

Program:

Works by Sophie Meyer (Denmark), Anne Sophie Andersen (Denmark), Stefan Klaverdal (Sweden) and Clarice Assad (USA)

 

David Härenstam: A celebrated guitarist who has appeared as a soloist and with a variety of ensembles in Europe, China and Australia. His virtuosic technique and expressive playing have won great acclaim, and he has been described as “one of the leading guitarists of his generation”.

Anne Sophie Andersen: With her “passionate playing” and “precise execution” (The Strad), Anne Sophie Andersen is a versatile violinist and composer. She is the founder and artistic director of the New Music for Strings Festival and has appeared on several prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall and Musikhuset Aarhus. She is also concertmaster of the Aarhus Chamber Orchestra.

Anna Jalving: A Danish violinist and artist who works with new music and constantly collaborates with prominent and new composers. She has performed works at international festivals and is a passionate chamber musician.

Isabelle Bania: Born in Sweden and educated at the Royal Academy of Music and Universität der Künste Berlin. Isabelle freelances as a chamber musician and has worked with several international ensembles. She is the founder of her own chamber music festival in Sweden and recipient of the Leonie Sonning Talent Prize 2022.

Kirstine Elise Pedersen: A prominent Danish cellist with a unique blend of classical and folk music. She is known for her creativity and her ability to touch the audience, whether she is playing solo or in collaboration with other musicians.
